Dear RMACAC members,
On Friday, Jan. 27, President Trump signed an executive order that impacts the immigration process for individuals from seven countries. This has led to many reactions, not only in our five-state affiliate, but nationwide. RMACAC’s mission is to support and advance the work of counselors as they help students realize their full educational potential, with particular emphasis on the transition from secondary schools to colleges and universities, and with attention to access and equity, including college readiness, for all students. The Rocky Mountain region has a strong and valuable history of welcoming students, scholars, faculty, and staff from around the world, and this order goes against our values as a professional association. RMACAC will continue to advocate for all Rocky Mountain students regardless of nationality or immigration status.
The Rocky Mountain leadership team is preparing to gather in Washington, D.C. to advocate for college access and will continue to work with the National Association to provide support and resources for our members. Please see NACAC’s statement on this executive order and calls to action.

2016-2017 Strategic Plan
We recognize the strength of our board; with record increasing membership; deep experience in the field of college transition; representation from all five states, high schools, colleges, independent counseling, and community based organizations.
This is the second time the RMACAC Board has presented a strategic plan to the membership for comment. The hope is that the membership will help the Board refine the plan and that in years to come our membership will take an active roll in the defining of goals for our association.
We would love to hear your thoughts!
