Welcome to the Rocky Mountain Association for College Admission Counseling (RMACAC) website! Our Rocky Mountain region includes Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming and our goal is to advance the work of guidance and college counselors as they help students transition from high school to college - paying particular attention to access and equity for all students.

We are one of 23 regional affiliates of the National Associate of College Admissions Counseling (NACAC) which was established in 1937 and has about 11,000 members. Annual activities of RMACAC include our college fairs in Denver, CO, Albuquerque, NM and Salt Lake City, Utah. We hope to have a new fair in Wyoming in spring of 2011 - stay tuned! We are also host to a NACAC college fair in Phoenix, AZ each fall. RMACAC supports various professional development opportunities such as our regional spring conference which rotates between our five states and our KOO program (Keep Options Open) in CO which is jointly sponsored by Colorado Council for High School and College Relations.

Knowing that a lot of what impacts education and our students' ability to attend college is influenced by state and federal funding and policy, RMACAC and NACAC are involved in legislative issues and advocacy. For years we've co-sponsored a Legislative Action Day in Denver each February and we hope to mirror that effort in Utah or Arizona in 2011. We join forces with NACAC around national issues and our Government Relations Co-Chairs send updates to members about ways they can get involved and make a difference.

Did you know about the RMACAC listserv? It's a terrific way to share information with RMACAC membership. Just contact Kasey Urquidez, Director of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Arizona, to either submit information or to get signed up. She and her staff have graciously agreed to host the listserv for RMACAC.

RMACAC is made up of a special group of individuals who care deeply about supporting our students and making higher education possible for everyone. It is an organization where counselors and admission officers alike can find answers to questions, learn new skills and make lasting friendships. It doesn't matter if you are new to the field or have been working at this for 20 years - there's something for everyone!

We hope you'll take some time to explore our website and learn more about the good work RMACAC accomplishes. Our members make it happen and membership has benefits. I encourage you today to sign up for the 2010-11 year.

Sincerely,
Susan Boyle
